The Betulia Hydro Project in Honduras tackles energy poverty by providing renewable energy to the national grid, displacing fossil fuels, and curbing deforestation. With a 6.8 MW capacity, it generates 23,000 MWh annually, equivalent to 5,000 families' consumption. Reforestation efforts cover 5,613ha in the Betulia Valley, fostering local biodiversity with 11,000 trees planted. The project has created 26 jobs (25 employees hired locally), contributes $97,000 for local infrastructure and schools. To date 43,772 tCO2e emission reduction achieved.
